The Oregon Coast Photography Workshop - November 2021
That’s right! Physical workshops are back on the calendar. I am thrilled to announce The Oregon Coast workshop, happening November 9th - 12th, 2021. I am co-hosting this workshop with fellow photographer and podcaster Derrick Story, a seasoned workshop instructor and all-around cool guy to hang with.
If you’ve never photographed the Oregon Coast, it is a treasure for the landscape photographer. Rocky coastlines, towering sea stacks, beautiful beaches – all shaped by the strong tides of the Pacific Ocean. It is without a doubt one of the most photogenic places on earth. And if you have - you know exactly what I’m talking about.
The workshop price is $1295. That’s a 4-day adventure, including personalized instruction (two instructors!), on-location guidance, and post-processing lessons. Space is limited to 10 participants.

A Lightroom folder structure doesn't need to account for every date, location, subject, or shoot with another level of folders. Organizing photographs into dated folders is especially common, but unless dates are how you naturally look for your photographs, that extra structure may not be helping you. Too much structure can make a photo library harder to understand rather than easier.
I keep all of my photographs beneath one top-level folder, then use a relatively shallow hierarchy underneath it. Different types of photography can follow different organizational logic. The important thing is that the structure matches how you naturally think about and look for your photographs.
