The Oregon Coast Photography Workshop - November 2021
That’s right! Physical workshops are back on the calendar. I am thrilled to announce The Oregon Coast workshop, happening November 9th - 12th, 2021. I am co-hosting this workshop with fellow photographer and podcaster Derrick Story, a seasoned workshop instructor and all-around cool guy to hang with.
If you’ve never photographed the Oregon Coast, it is a treasure for the landscape photographer. Rocky coastlines, towering sea stacks, beautiful beaches – all shaped by the strong tides of the Pacific Ocean. It is without a doubt one of the most photogenic places on earth. And if you have - you know exactly what I’m talking about.
The workshop price is $1295. That’s a 4-day adventure, including personalized instruction (two instructors!), on-location guidance, and post-processing lessons. Space is limited to 10 participants.
All of the details are on the workshop information page. Got questions, fire away in the comments or use the contact form.
I look forward to working with you in Oregon!
A dreamy, soft look can be a beautiful way to finish a landscape photograph, but applying that softness everywhere can work against the image. The challenge is deciding where you want the viewer to feel softness and where you want them to see texture and detail.
In this article, I look at a practical way to use Luminar's Mystical tool selectively, keeping the mist and sky soft while preserving the crisp, textured character of the mountains. The result is more than a softer photograph—it creates another kind of contrast that can help direct attention through the image.
