Photo Themed Holiday Gift Ideas

December is here, the holiday season is upon us. In this video, I share three photo-themed gift ideas for yourself or your favorite photographer. I’ve chose these products because they are great and they are inexpensive. I use these products regularly in my photography.

LENS COAT HOODIE

I have a Lens Coat Hoodie for each of my lenses. These are soft, elastic lens covers. I love that they stretch around the filter ring adapters that are 99% of the time on my lenses.

They come in a variety of sizes and colors. Measure your lens diameter with a ruler (old school) and you’ll know what size to get for your lens.

MINDSHIFT FILTER HIVE

The Filter Hive has enough space for my ND filters, polarizers and mounting brackets (I don't use the circular filter storage slots). I drape it around my tripod for quick and easy access in the field.

PLATYPOD ULTRA

The slim footprint of the Platypod Ultra is amazing. I use this with my A6000 or RX0 to capture behind the scenes video. See other ways I am using Platypods in my photography. I also recommend picking up the accessory kit.

PLATYPOD MAX

I use Platypods on scouting trips and for capturing additional video angles from field shoots. The Max is plenty sturdy for my full frame bodies and large lenses. See how I am using Platypods in my photography for more ways to use Platypods.

Scott Davenport

Scott Davenport is a landscape photographer and photo educator and based in San Diego, California. He leads photo workshops, writes photo books, hosts podcasts, makes tutorial videos, and feels weird referring to himself in the 3rd person.

He also can't help getting his feet wet photographing at the beach.
