Do you know about Lights Out mode? This feature of Lightroom is incredibly useful for cropping. All the distracting elements of the interface are hidden, letting you fix your attention on your photo and get the perfect crop. Use the ‘L’ keyboard shortcut to cycle through the Lights Out modes and focus on your photo and final crop.
