Remembering Japan
I can’t believe it’s been two years since my last visit to Japan. It seems like such a recent memory. Getting outside of the city centers was very rewarding. I spent about a week in the Wakayama Prefecture visiting both natural wonders and many shrines.
Like this one, Kumano Nachi Taisha. You’ve probably seen photos of its nearby pagoda with Nachi Falls as a backdrop. The grounds of the shrine itself are equally beautiful.
The rolling hills of Zabriskie Point offer a unique combination of colors, shapes, and textures.
Scott Davenport is a landscape photographer and photo educator and based in San Diego, California. He leads photo workshops, writes photo books, hosts podcasts, makes tutorial videos, and feels weird referring to himself in the 3rd person.
He also can't help getting his feet wet photographing at the beach.
With sunsets after 11pm and sunrise at 2am, a landscape photographer doesn’t get a lot of sleep.
