My Favorite Red River Papers (May 2020)

Printing has been occupying my time while outdoor activities have been limited. Having time on my hands means experimenting with a few paper stocks. In this video, I discuss my favorite Red River papers, why I like them, and the type of work I turn to each one for.

Favorite All-Around Paper: 60lb Pecos River Gloss

  • Crisp, clean details

  • Deep blacks

  • Color rendition great

  • Limited viewing angle

Favorite Black & White Paper: 68lb Ultra Pro Satin 4.0

  • Gallery look & feel

  • Wide viewing angle, low glare

  • Great detail & contrast

  • Less color punch (compared to Pecos River)

Contender: Polar Gloss Metallic 255

  • Metallic style

  • Highlights really pop

  • Strong reflections
