In today’s video, I share thoughts about a sunrise photo where the camera is pointing into the sun. This high dynamic range situation means the foreground is very dark. I resisted the urge to open the shadows a lot. Why? That wasn’t the story of the photo. Open the shadows too much would be more of a distraction for my viewer than keeping them dark and playing their secondary, supporting role. I explain my thinking in today’s video.
