Using a pair of elliptical masks with texture and clarity adjustments will help guide your viewer to the important subjects in your photo. You can do this technique in any tool that has masking and sharpness or clarity controls - which is pretty much every tool out there. It is a subtle and effective way to emphasize key subjects in a scene.
