Approaching Bubbles Divide

Before I ever set foot in Acadia National Park, I’d seen plenty of photos of balance rock perched on the Bubbles Divide. If I’m honest with myself, I kinda-sorta discounted hiking up to the rock because it’s been photographed from every angle.

And then I reminded myself - it hasn’t been photographed by me. Even if I never share a photo of balance rock, I should make the hike for myself.

And it was worth every uphill step. The climb isn’t arduous, although it’s not short either. One of my favorite scenes on the divide wasn’t of that famous rock. It’s the scene on this page. To think I would have missed this…
