onOne / Add a Wet, Shiny Look to Urban Landscapes

Via Zucchelli, Rome, Italy

I live in Southern California. We don't get a lot of rain. Strikingly little, in fact. I've grown so accustomed to day after day of clear weather, I sometimes get annoyed when it does rain. When I want a little rain to add some shine and dimension to street scenes, I don't get rain.

Karma, baby.

Fortunately, adding a wet look to urban landscapes is easily done in post-processing. In the short video below, I use an adjustment brush in Perfect Effects to spruce up a cobblestone street.

The same technique also works to add shine to architecture photos, too.

Watch Scott Davenport use the masking brush and sliders to show how easy it is to add a wet, shiny look to your images very quickly. Scott uses a combination of multiple layers, HDR, and the Perfect Brush to make his photos come alive.
