Love Locks In Florence

Love Locks, Florence, Italy

Love locks are all over Europe. Almost hard not to find. I've seen bridges where locks had to be latched on to other locks – simply no room left on the bridge grate! According to Wikipedia, the practice of sweethearts symbolizing their love in this way dates back to World War I and Serbia. And a pretty sad tale of a broken heart.

This small collection has a fantastic view of Florence. If each one represents a couple, I do wonder how many of them are still together. Hopefully all of them.
