Gyeongbokgung Palace, Seoul, South Korea

I've been to South Korea numerous times, five or six I think. On every trip, I visit Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. I'm intrigued by buildings that have been around for centuries. Maybe it's because I grew up in the United States - a "young" country by many measures.

The grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace are quiet, peaceful. And if you time your visit right, flat out gorgeous when the trees start to bloom. This photo was taken in early April. It had been a cold winter, so not all of the cherry blossoms had reached full bloom. There's a few hints of them in this picture. And when the trees do reach full bloom ... just wow ... it's a real treat.
