A Girl On The Beach

This shot is from a scouting visit to Praia de Camilo in Lagos, Portugal. While taking test shots for what would become the following morning's sunrise shoot, a girl wandered down to the water's edge. She started taking what seemed to me to be an epic number of selfies, briefly acknowledged my presence (I'm sure she was marveling at the care I was taking with my composition), and continued about her own photo endeavors.

Mentally blocking out the otherwise bustling beach, a story emerged. A lovely young lady on a beautiful stretch of coast. I used all the techniques I teach in my Removing Distractions From Your Photos video guide to take out all the other tourists and make the photo all about the girl on the beach.

Technical details:
- Sony A7R w/ FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS
- f/10 @ 24mm, 1/125sec, ISO 50
- Processed in Lightroom and the on1 Perfect Photo Suite
