Two Processing Tips Using OnOne

While processing this sunset from La Jolla, California, I used two simple yet very effective techniques for the finishing touches. OnOne's Perfect Photo Suite makes this a breeze.

  • First, I reduced the size of an unattractive, gray marine layer at the horizon by making a duplicate of the layer, resizing the duplicate to extend the sky, then mask it into the original layer.
  • Second, tune the vignette controls to clearly see where a vignette will and won't be applied.

Watch the short video below for a demonstration.

Scott Davenport

Scott Davenport is a landscape photographer and photo educator and based in San Diego, California. He leads photo workshops, writes photo books, hosts podcasts, makes tutorial videos, and feels weird referring to himself in the 3rd person.

He also can't help getting his feet wet photographing at the beach.
