Playa Susana, Ushuaia, Argentina - In The Field #559
Prior to my Antarctic voyage, I spent a few days in Ushuaia, Argentina and the surrounding area. Playa Susana has an excellent trail with rocky coves, wooded areas, and – if you are lucky – grazing horses. The hike is largely non-technical and if you’re inclined you can connect into the Senda Costera trail that meanders through the Tierra del Fuego National Park.

The sky is gray, the tides are dull, and the fog is thick. What’s a photographer to do? Pivot.

The brilliant light lasted merely minutes… though while it did Valley Of Fire State Park lived up to its name.
