Effective Aperture Workflow, Planning An Update
It's been about 8 months since I published Effective Aperture Workflow. I have been humbled by the emails and comments I've received from photographers around the globe on how my book has helped them take control of their Aperture workflow. It's a truly wonderful feeling that I've been able to help you.
While it's anyone's guess when the next update of Aperture will drop, I think an update to the book is in order. Aperture itself hasn't changed much, although parts of my workflow have matured.
I've started to sketch out what updates I will make to the book. A few thoughts so far:
- Sharing photos; how I share to G+, Facebook, and other photo sharing sites
- Mobile; pros and cons of iCloud, Younity, PhotoScope
- Custom Metadata vs. Keywords; track things unrelated to the subject of the photo
- Backup strategies
I am still toying with the idea of expanding on Adjustments and covering some techniques and tips for image adjustments in Aperture. Although I'm leaning toward that as a separate mini-book. How an image is processed and stylized is a wide topic.
