Vlog: Processing Infrared Photos In Lightroom

In my first vlog about infrared photography, I talked about using a custom white balance in camera. However, that’s just to help your camera meter the scene. It does not do much at all once you have your RAW photos back at your computer.

A challenge with post-processing infrared photos is to get a proper white balance. My asset manager is Lightroom, and often my starting point for post-processing. In this video, I’ll show you:

  • the white balance problem with RAW infrared photos

  • how to create a custom profile for your infrared camera

  • how to apply that custom profile in Lightroom to your infrared photos

  • a few other basics on how to process infrared photos
