The Texas State Capital

If you are ever in Austin, make a visit to the State Capital Building. Entry is free. I suggest going there after 5pm, when the work day is over. You have the place largely to yourself and can use your tripod. I had a blast photographing all sorts of symmetry, both inside and outside.

For a shot like this to work, you really have to work hard in the field to nail the symmetry in camera. And to avoid any imbalance in the architecture because of a poor camera angle. I did a pretty good job here. I had very minor tweaks to the crop to get the Star Of Texas to be perfectly centered.
