In The Field: Being A Low Impact Street Photographer #272

I don’t do much street photography. Frankly, street photography makes me nervous. In the back of my mind, I’m always concerned I’ll encounter someone that will take exception to a photographer - and in a confrontational way. When I do photograph in a city, I try to be “small”. I make as little impact as I can to the flow of the scene and finish quickly. All things being equal, I will work a scene in a way to minimize the potential for conflict. Join me this week In the Field in the narrow Pontocho Alley of Kyoto, Japan.

Are you a street photographer? What’s your approach to street work? Leave your thoughts and tips in the comments.
