Hiking Soberanes Point

There was a time when I didn’t like people in my landscape photos. It’s fair to say I didn’t like any indication of human presence - sign posts, buildings, or people. Over time, my tastes have changed. Now, I often frame up shots with a lone hiker, a surfer, or silhouetted figures in a scene. Including these types of elements add a sense of scale and depth to a scene… and also add to the story.

This photo was taken at Soberanes Point during my Big Sur photo workshop. That’s one of my fellow photographers who kindly wore a bold color!
