Help San Diego Firefighters, Buy a Photo. 50% Goes to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation
Now through June 30th, 2014 I am donating 50% of the proceeds from sales of my products to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation. That's 50% of every book sale. Every script. Every print. 50% of every penny earned from every click on the blog. 50% of everything on my website.
San Diego has been engulfed in flames for five days now. I've lived in San Diego for nearly 20 years and the sheer number of individual fires is unprecedented. There have been 11 distinct fires in San Diego County. For the past week, it seems with every passing hour, a new fire springs up in and around the city.
Firefighters have done nothing less than an outstanding job keeping these fires at bay, evacuating neighborhoods, and protecting homes and businesses. Although homes have been lost, I am truly amazed the damage has not been greater. First responders and firefighters have everything to do with that fact.
I want to help. I will help. And I'm asking for your help, too.
Please have a look through my galleries. If you see a photo you like, buy it for yourself. You deserve it. Or buy one for a friend. Get that birthday gift for somebody a little early. And know you're not only getting a nice piece of art, you're helping support the brave men and women of San Diego that keep families safe and save lives.
Money is tight these days – when is it not. If you can't purchase anything now, that's OK. You can still help.
Forward this blog post to your friends and family. Post it to your social media streams. Get the word out in any you can. You can also donate directly to the San Diego Fire Rescue Foundation.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this post. Be strong, San Diego.
