Private Online Photography Lessons
Private Online Photography Lessons
1-on-1 online photography lessons with Scott. Lessons are tailored to you so you'll get exactly what you want. Limited availability.
Different people learn in different ways. For some, reading ebooks, searching online tutorials and watching training videos works well. Others need a more interactive experience to learn effectively. I am passionate about photography education and truly want you to become a better photographer. So I'm very happy to be adding private lessons as a service.
My private photography lessons are exactly that – personal, one-on-one lessons tailored to you. You'll be able to ask me questions live on the spot and get immediate feedback. To make sure you get a top quality experience, I will only teach things I am completely familiar with.
“You asked what I wanted and taught me the skills to make it happen - Perfect!”
How Does It Work?
When you're ready to setup a lesson with me, here's what happens:
You purchase a block of lesson time.
During checkout, use the "Tell Me More" form to explain what you want to learn more about. (You can always contact me as well).
I’ll reply to your booking, usually within 48 hours. I’ll ask a few follow-up questions, if necessary.
Together, we craft lessons around your needs and set a date & time for the session.
Lesson time! We connect via Zoom or Skype, learn a bunch, and have fun.
I will do my absolute best to teach you as much as possible during our time together. I want you to get the most value for your time and money.
What Topics Are Good For Online Learning?
Online lessons are fantastic for certain types of learning and topics, such as photo critiques, composition theory, or photo editing tool instruction. Topics that are good for online learning:
Photo critiques
Composition theory
Post-processing tools and techniques
Photo organization & asset management
Portfolio reviews
Topics that are conceptual, organizational, or photo editor-based are fantastic for online learning.
What Topics Are NOT Good For Online Learning?
I don't think all photography topics are best served by online classes. Activities that need hands-on learning do not lend themselves to virtual learning.
Topics that are NOT good for online learning:
How to use your camera (dials, buttons, menus)
Interpreting a location and changing shooting style per conditions
Focusing techniques
Learning & practicing long exposure techniques
Exposure settings in dynamic lighting conditions
Activities that require “in the wild” stimuli or hands-on learning are not best suited for online learning.
If you sign up for an online lesson and I believe the topic you want to learn is not suited to online learning, we can cancel the session and you'll get a full 100% refund
If you sign up and ask to be taught a topic I am not confident I can teach you with top quality (portraits, for example), we will cancel the session and you'll get a full 100% refund.
